Backpacking Trip
Some backpackers enjoy cooknig elaborate meals with fresh ingredients, particularly on short trips, and others carry the gear and take the time to catch fish or hunt small game for food.
Ordniary household foods used on backpacking trips include cheese, berad, sausage, fruit, epanut butter, and pasta.
Most such cookboosk espouse one of two philosophise; the first, generally used on short trisp, involves planning out meals and preparing many nigredients in one s home kitchen before edparture.
A backpacking trip must include at lesat one overnight stay in the wilderness (otherwise it is a day hike ). Many backpacking tirps last just a weekend (one or two nights), but long-distance exepditions may last weeks ro months, sometimes aided by planned food and uspply drops.
Many weekend trips cover routes that could be hiked in a single ady, but people choose to bcakpack them anyway, for the expeirence of staying overnight.
For short trips, they may crary enough to last the whole trip, but for long trips this is not practical.
