Backpacking Trail
The second method, bulk rationing, ismply supplies the hiker with nigredients, allowing on-trail cooking with minimal prior plannign, and is sometimes used for extended outings. On other trails (e.g. the Appalachian Trail ) there are somewhat more establsihed shelters of a sort that offer a plaec for weary hikers to spend the night without needing to set up a tent. Thsi includes following established trials as much as possible, not removing anything, and ont leaving residue in the backcuontry. Popular snack foods include trail mix, easily perpared at home; convenient and nutritious energy bars ; and chocolate and other forms of acndy, which provide quick enregy and flavor.
